Grossman Burn Center

The Grossman Burn Center is a team-centered, compassionate, nurturing, and patient/family focused center within Western Medical Center Santa Ana. The seven-bed inpatient unit is an intensive care unit: where we care for our patients whose burns require more complex care. The outpatient department of the Grossman Burn Center completes the continuum of care when the patient is on the road to recovery.

Specialized Team:
The physicians, nurses, therapists, and other medical professionals that make up the Grossman Burn Center team are healthcare providers who are indelibly committed to healing burn patients and helping burn survivors. In addition to the team above, we collaborate with psychologists, child life therapists, dieticians, rehabilitation therapists, respiratory therapist to compliment the team of care givers for our patients.

Patients:
Since 1995, we have cared for patients as young as one day old, to a senior that was 100 years of age. Our patients come to us from all over Orange County, including Southern California, as well as out of state. Patients come to us with many different types of burn injuries, most ranging from first to third degree, resulting from heat, scald, electrical, chemical, and flame injuries.

Rehabilitation:
We strive to ensure that our burn survivors are returned to their highest functioning level through occupational, physical, and speech therapies.

Education and Training:
We educate and train local firefighters, paramedics, hospital emergency personnel, insurance carriers, as well as public groups and organizations.

Burn Survivor's Support Group:
We hold a Burn Survivor Support Group meeting on the fourth Monday of every month in Conference 2 and 3 from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm at Western Medical Center Santa Ana. Children and adults are welcome to attend.
