Senior Mental Health Services

Serving our patients for over 50 years, the Senior Mental Health Services offered in the Neuro-psychiatry unit at Western Medical Center Santa Ana is composed of 28 beds. We offer a wide base of psychiatric and medical services for our patients. We also provide a comfortable home-like enviroment setting throughout their hospital stay. A multidisciplinary team that consists of licensed clinical social worker, occupational therapists, registered nurses, certified therapeutic specialist, and both board eligible and board certified psychiatrists. The psychiatrist specialize in geriatric care and utilize both group therapy and individual counseling sessions to assist patients to develop new skills and coping mechanisms to live full healthy lives. The unit is County designated to accomodate involuntary hold patients and we are one of several facilities that offer ECT services. The unit's primary goal is to assist our patients in their mental health needs while ensuring their dignity and self respect is maintained. Staff members work closely with the patients' families to understand the illness, it's symptoms, and varied treatment options. Families will be provided with regular updates on progress and will be assisted with discharge plans for their loved ones.

Visiting Hours:

  • Monday through Friday, 12:00 pm - 1:45 pm and 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm
  • Weekends and Holidays, 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm
